The panel loved this wine because of its fantastic balance and potential versatility. A great wine for mid-week pizza but also equally up to the task of roast chicken at Sunday lunch. This is Grenache driven wine at its best. We absolutely love the distinct black fruit and sweet spice combination which drives extraordinary length on the finish. An international superstar!Bonpas has delivered a Cotes du Rhone that lives up to the region’s reputation and then some. Aromas of sweet spices and ripe red fruits dominate the nose, blackcurrant and spices on the palate, with velvety tannins and some serious length. Credit has to be given to Plan de Dieu terroir with its clay soils with rounded pebbles, and good exposure to sun and wind. It’s a wonderful expression. Every mouthful of the Bonpas speaks volumes about the Cotes du Rhone, and we like what it’s saying.
